ThinLinc server agents

tl-uno.math.uu.se
tl-dos.math.uu.se
tl-tres.math.uu.se

Three servers with Ubuntu 18.04, 8 CPUs and 72 Gb RAM each.

Documentation about the software, issues and fixes is found on the thinlinc-page.

One-node resources

Multiple-node resources (Haddock cluster)

{ha1}.math.uu.se
{ha3}.math.uu.se
{ha5-ha7}.math.uu.se
{ha9-ha10}.math.uu.se
{ha12}.math.uu.se
{ha14-ha15}.math.uu.se
{ha18-ha28}.math.uu.se

They all run Ubuntu 18.04.
You have to ssh into these.
ha2, ha4, ha8, ha11, ha13, ha16 and ha17 are down due to hardware failures.
All run Ubuntu 18.04 and have Cuda 9.1 and nvidia-390 (the newest we can run on those old cards).

  • Around 45 GB RAM,
  • 2 pieces of Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2620 0 @ 2.00GHz with
  • 2 pieces of GF110GL [Tesla M2075] nvidia graphic cards set up for cuda.

  • You can access these servers through ssh from your ThinLinc session or with a ssh client if you have a computer with wired network access to the math department network.
For example, to run Matlab or Maple on these nodes, open Applications->System Tools->Terminal in your ThinLinc session and issue the following commands:

    1. ssh -Y yourthinlincusername@servername (see above for the server names) and provide your "thinlinc password"
    2. type "xmaple &" to run Maple 18 or
    3. type "matlab &" to run Matlab 2016a
    4. type "mathematica &" to run Mathematica 11.3

Matlab and Maple are also directly available through the menu in your Thinlinc session:
Applications -> Education -> Matlab, (it will then run on the server Abel).

Please put any requests for software installation on these ha*machines into our support request system.
